What is the Rays 4K program?
Rays 4k Program is a FREE private Pre-K Readiness for ages 4-5 years old, located in Somerset, WI. Kids will explore through play-based learning, developmentally appropriate curriculum, social emotional learning, musical experiences, and Christian Education. Through play, learning, prayer, and bible stories, we aim to help each child grow in God’s love.
Rays of Sonshine is a participating provider for Get Kids Ready. This new program will enhance school readiness instruction, while state funding will make this program free for families and save parents money on childcare costs. All families must complete registration, health forms and submit a $50 registration fee, before being accepted.
Children must be 4 years old by September 1, 2026, and toilet trained to participate in the Rays 4K Program.
Are the teachers certified?
Yes, they are!! In fact, our Rays 4K teacher has a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and has worked at Rays for over 5 years.
How long is the school term?
Rays 4K will be in operation from September through May. During those months, the calendar of Somerset School District will generally be followed. Wrap-around care is available. Summer childcare is available. Families must enroll to participate in the Rays of Sonshine Childcare program.
Morning Class 8:00am - 11:00am
Afternoon Class 12:00pm - 3:00pm
Can my child attend Rays 4K and the district provided JK?
Yes. A child can participate in BOTH the Rays 4K Program and also attend the district-provided JK Program. Busing to and from the schools is available!

Weekly Christian education is incorporated into the Group Lesson Time, to help each child grow in God’s love.
